RELAX AND UNWIND


During the summer I was having a hard time sleeping, and no matter what time I went to bed it took my  body hours to fall asleep! My roommate suggested that i follow her nightly routine, which consisted of doing absolutely nothing but relaxing for two hours before bed. In my head I thought this idea was insane because I couldn't see myself laying around for two hours doing absolutely nothing.....

But for the sake of my eyes, which by mid summer were sporting some pretty amazing sleepless night bags, I decided to give it a try. For starters when she says don't do anything she didn't mean lay there like a dead flower :). "Do Nothing", in my case meant don't stress over anything you can't change, let the negative thoughts of the day go, and most importantly just let your mind and your body simply relax!! After a month of doing this I have to say it's really made a difference in my sleeping pattern and mentality. It feels great to just relax before i go to bed and unwind, and i find myself feeling ready to conquer...well maybe not conquer..but i am definitely ready to tackle my day the morning. Relax and unwind before you go to bed! Grab a candle and your favourite magazine and let your mind and body have the time it needs to simply just be.
