finding the beauty in life

So every summer after my birthday (May 16th in case you want to give this girl a gift!)I decide that I must lose that winter hibernation weight. After much thought and a week of eating every carb under the sun, I begin my quest to weight loss. My first crucial step was finding the cutest workout clothes because, boys work out and its important to look cute on those trails that are dominated by males. So I scoured the internet to find the cutest running outfit and landed on a cute pair of Metallic Striped Athletic Pants in black, with a purple GEO Crossback Athletic Tank. My second step was to upload the best workout songs onto my ipod ( I first tested the music by busting a few moves)and create a playlist.I bought a cute pair of Nikes and the Nike+ tracker and I thought I was on my way. But then I got my hair done and I ran into what I like to call Black Girl Problems. I got my hair relaxed and got extensions done! So do I run and sweat out my relaxer :(
Or do I put running aside and keep my hair looking good :)
After much thought I realized that despite everything I had done and my minor Black Girl Problem I lacked the motivation to get out there and run! So my question to you is what do you do to get motivated? Whether it be when it comes to physical activity or just motivation in every day life.

My Nike shoe box which, does not house my Nikes but instead is my make-shift craft box!

After much hype about the EOS lip balms I finally decided to buy one! It's been raved about by YouTube bloggers so, I decided to give it a go. I also found the cute sphere shaped packaging appealing and cool and inventive so, the product inside must be cool. The packaging boasts that the lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural and paraben and petrolatum free. Ingredients include vitamin E, Shea butter and Jojoba oil. Unfortunately for EOS lip balm this product was a complete lip balm in my opinion. I purchased the honeysuckle honeydew flavour, and although the product smelt great it left my lips dry and peeling.
In my quest to write the blog I couldn't even find the lip balm to take a picture of. It's safe to say that the EOS lip balm is lost to me  and it will not be found.
Sorry EOS I twisted off top, puckered up,but did not smile :(.

Grandpa & LaNieya

So my family is one of those families who yell, rather then talk. We have no concept of an inside voice and we strive to prove it at every turn. We bust more moves then Young Mc, and have way more gossip then that girl on the CW( eat your heart out Georgina Sparks). But from age 3 to 73, there is one thing that we do amazingly, we love each other with all that we have. So here is a glimpse of a grandfather that we love and cherish and a three year old, that not only brightens our days but, keeps us together.

So ‘tis the season for holiday cheer which, includes  stimulating their economies with tons of shopping and time spent with close family and friends. This is also the season of the chap lip! There is nothing I hate more then seeing someone with dry lips, I mean come on ladies and gentlemen they sell tons of different lip products to keep your lips looking healthy and moist. So this post is going to be dedicated, to keeping your lips moist and healthy during the holiday and cold weather season.
Symptoms- Lips that are lacking in moisture may become dry, burning, red and swollen, small cracks, and peeling of the skin on the lips. If the skin on chapped lips becomes extremely dry, stretching of the lips may cause large cracks, which may be painful and/or bleed.
Causes- Lips often become chap because of lack of moisture and though a lack of natural oil from the lips may cause your lips to become chap, the most common cause is cold weather.
For more information on how to keep your lips moist during Winter and Summer visit :

1.Summer's Eve- Which is for your vijayjay, which I will affectionately be referring to as your "cookie" on this blog. I mean if Oprah Winfrey can coin the phrase vijayjay, then why cant Nakesha Joseph coin the term cookie. Basically this is a cleansing wash which is specifically for your cookie. This keeps your cookie smelling fresh and clean without smelling like a cookie monster! This product in gynaecologist tested, fragrance free, and the company does not test on animals.
2. Eucerin- My trusty Eucerin Creme suggested to me by my dermatologist when I was twelve years old, this is definitely my holy grail moisturizer. It works perfect for someone like me who has dry, sensitive, and itchy skin. I use this after I get out of the shower and it last a full 24hrs.
3.Neutrogena Body Clear-I've only been using this body wash for a while but its been pretty good thus far. Body Clear treats and helps prevent body breakouts which can occur on the chest, back, and shoulder. My only complaint about this product is that it does leave your skin feeling quite dry but, thankfully I have Eucerin
4.St Ive's- used the St. Ive's Apricot scrub for the first time and completely broke out, I was completely shocked as I looked up many reviews and this product came completely recommended. I decided to give it another chance and I absolutely love this product, it most definitely controls blemishes and blackheads. The biggest plus about this product is that it doesn't leave your skin feeling dry, which is a huge plus for me!!!!!!
5. Clean & Clear Foaming Cleanser- Not the best facial cleanser in the world but, after using it for so long I haven't found another product worth buying! It does leave your face feeling pretty dry after and to be honest its quite uncomfortable when your skin is tight due to dryness. If you have suggestions on facial cleansers that leave skin clean and not dry please let me know.

Inspired by the movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, starring Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell. Monroe plays a women who uses her sexuality in order to win over rich men, while Russell plays a strong and unafraid woman who knows what she wants and will only marry for love.
Each of these women played these characters flawlessly, while struggling with their own problems and insecurities in their personal life.
Each of us have a little of these women in us and the purpose of this blog is not to dwell  on imperfections and insecurities but, to embrace them!
